What’s your biggest achievement so far, either at work or personally?

“Achieving my CIPD in HR management. I’m not academic so it was a huge personal challenge!”

What’s your favourite route, and what did you want to be as a child when you grew up?

“The A66 from Scotch Corner to Penrith, amazing views. A footballer or a cowboy”

What are the common misconceptions about being a transport manager?

“It’s just about moving trucks and pallets around. There are so many more layers of complexity”

Tell us something that people don’t know about you, Steve:

“I like to climb mountains. The craziest thing I have ever done was cross Crib Goch (knife edge) on the way to Mount Snowdon.”

Have you ever won a medal or a trophy:

“I have been lucky enough to run quite a few distance races (10k, half marathons, and marathons), and I blag a medal each time.”

Tell us something that most people don’t know about you

I tell a lot of people about my 3 dogs, but I also own a tortoise called Dave

Are there any common misconceptions about finance held by those outside the finance industry, and what did you have for breakfast this morning?

“That accountants are all boring, we have such a laugh in our office, it’s never boring. A green smoothie for breakfast”
