Aspirations day competition winner

In July, we supported St. George’s Church of England Primary School in Stamford with their Aspirations Day. We held a competition on the day; the children shortlisted their favourites, and we are proud to reveal the winning drawing.

Early November, the winning artist is going for a drive with our driver trainer, Stephen Taylor (photographed holding the drawing) to experience a few hours in the life of a professional driver. We will keep you posted.

Driver Excellence Award

Meet Mervin Roberts, the 2024 winner of our Driver Excellence Award. Drivers vote for the award, which honours former CS Ellis Logistics driver Grahame McPherson, in honour of drivers who exhibit dedication, diligence, and excellent customer service.

Grahame passed away in his truck a few years ago after working with us for 23 years. His family donated the award in his memory, as he was held in high regard by his fellow drivers and his customers.

St. George’s Aspirations Day

We were excited to receive an invitation to the St. George’s Church of England Primary School Aspirations Day on July 18, 2024, in Stamford.

The purpose of the now-annual event was to provide all of their primary school children with the opportunity to learn about a variety of career pathways while also getting hands-on exposure to the latest cutting-edge equipment and technology.

Steve, our driver trainer, and Jayne from HR spent the whole day answering questions; our favourites included “Why can’t a truck driver drive up and down the county in a day and then he wouldn’t need a bed?” and “If you have a car license, can you also drive a lorry?”
