Aspirations day competition winner
In July, we supported St. George’s Church of England Primary School in Stamford with their Aspirations Day. We held a competition on the day; the children shortlisted their favourites, and we are proud to reveal the winning drawing.
Early November, the winning artist is going for a drive with our driver trainer, Stephen Taylor (photographed holding the drawing) to experience a few hours in the life of a professional driver. We will keep you posted.

St. George’s Aspirations Day
We were excited to receive an invitation to the St. George’s Church of England Primary School Aspirations Day on July 18, 2024, in Stamford.
The purpose of the now-annual event was to provide all of their primary school children with the opportunity to learn about a variety of career pathways while also getting hands-on exposure to the latest cutting-edge equipment and technology.
Steve, our driver trainer, and Jayne from HR spent the whole day answering questions; our favourites included “Why can’t a truck driver drive up and down the county in a day and then he wouldn’t need a bed?” and “If you have a car license, can you also drive a lorry?”

BRCGS AA for storage and distribution
CS Ellis is proud to announce that we have been awarded BRCGS AA for storage and distribution. The achievement demonstrates our commitment to continuous improvement and our unwavering pursuit of excellence.
James Munton, Director of Infrastructure and Health and Safety, said, “BRCGS has now become central to our business values, demonstrating that we adhere to a measured set of standards and are compliant with all relevant requirements and legislation, and to achieve an AA with our first attempt is testament to the team involved.”
Steve Gray, Managing Director, “We have earned our reputation by delivering dependable logistics solutions throughout the UK for over 90 years; achieving BRCGS AA can only strengthen that position. Commercially, the standard will allow us to continue our growth strategy as we support the food, beverage, and packaging sectors. We are delighted with the outcome, and the efforts of everyone involved.”
We are delighted to announce that, following our recent and first FORS audit, we have maintained our Silver accreditation.
Commenting on the award, Natalie MacDonald, FORS & Compliance Supervisor, said, “ FORS – Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme is a voluntary scheme that demonstrates our commitment to becoming safer, greener, and more efficient. The required eLearning modules help our drivers continually improve in line with current trends while becoming even more valuable assets to the company.”
Steve Gray, Managing Director, “Special thanks to Nat, who led the audit and who worked tirelessly with our drivers and everyone involved to ensure that we retained our Silver accreditation.”
