Meet one of our longer serving drivers
James T: CAT C+E (Artic) hazchem driver
I’ve been driving HGVs for over 20 years — 15 with CS Ellis — and even when I stepped away, I missed the freedom of the road. The industry’s come a long way, with higher standards and more focus on safety, especially in ADR and Hazchem work like my regular bromine runs. It’s demanding, but I take pride in being trusted with that responsibility. These days, I value time at home more, but I still love the job — the independence, the routine, and the pride in doing things right. Music, humour, and a steady attitude keep me going, and the best drivers I’ve known, like Mush, showed how calm professionalism makes all the difference. It’s not always visible work, but it matters — and I’m proud to do it well.

When the company he was with sadly went into administration, Ricky knew he wanted to find a company with the same close-knit, family feel. That search led him to CS Ellis.
